Melanie earned her Masters of Arts in Art Therapy with a Specialization in Counseling from Seton Hill University in PA in 2004. Melanie brings a unique set of skills with her as she can provide more traditional “talk therapy” but is also a Registered and Board Certified Art Therapist. She will always encourage expressive work and the use of art materials but remains deeply respectful of how each client best needs to work and grow over time. Melanie loves to work with a wide variety of ages and mental health concerns but has special interests in the areas of trauma and abuse, attachment, LGBTQ+/trans-gender issues, and adolescents in general. Melanie enjoys working with clients of diverse backgrounds and is always excited to keep learning and growing with her clients. It is deeply important to her to tailor her therapeutic work to meet every client “where they are” and develop a connection based in strong trust and support. It is through this connection Melanie sees her clients do their most important work towards becoming their healthiest selves and grow in ways they may have never imagined.
