Adriana earned her Master's degree in Clinical Social Work from the University of Chicago and her Bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Psychological Services from Northwestern University. She has experience as a therapist with children, adolescents, families and individuals (ages 5-adult). Adriana values meeting clients where they are at by presenting her authentic and genuine self as a resource for the client to gain a better understanding of their personal strengths and abilities to help increase their confidence in healthy and effective coping. Adriana has experience in the hospital environment at Lurie's Children's Hospital where she worked on the psychiatric inpatient and partial hospitalization units for 8 years as a bilingual milieu therapist. She has also worked for nearly 7 years as a crisis clinician at a 24-7 behavioral crisis non-for-profit organization. Adriana specializes in the treatment of clients that have engaged in high-risk behaviors including, but not limited to, suicidal thoughts and behaviors, aggression, self-injury, substance abuse, and poor judgment. Additional areas of expertise for Adriana include mood and anxiety disorders, trauma, behavioral management, parenting issues, relational distress, school-related issues, life transitions, self-esteem/self-control issues and Spanish-speaking clients.
