About Sarah Stram

sarah Sarah earned her master’s degree in social work from Aurora University after attending Purdue University for a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. She has a strong interest in veterinary social work between assisting pet owners as they navigate challenges that accompany sharing their life with a furry, feathered, or scaled companion, helping veterinary professionals with mental health difficulties in the profession as well as the many ways in which animals can assist therapeutic interventions. Sarah firmly believes in empowering her clients at whatever stage they are at and providing tools to allow them to reach their full potential all while offering support and a strong sounding board for concerns.

Sarah has experience with individual therapy, group therapy, and has worked closely with veterinary professionals in both larger hospitals and small clinic settings. When working with pet owners, Sarah is strongly interested in grief and loss counseling, treatment plan decision-making and quality of life discussions of pets. While helping veterinary professionals from doctors, veterinary assistants, to technicians and more, mentorship, career planning, and coping strategies are the areas where she most finds enjoyment and is able to make positive impacts with clients.
